Video: Onboard an Audi R8 LMP at Sebring

Audi Sport Team Joest conducted extended tests with the Audi R18 e-tron quattro cars at Sebring last week. During the tests four of the older Audi R8 LMP cars also took part, run by their respective teams. Below we have embedded an onboard video from one of the R8s at the Sebring tests. 

It was great to have the older Audi R8s alongside the latest Audi prototypes. The Audi R8s were being tested and ECU maintenance was conducted. The R8s present included chassis: #405; #605; #606 and #607.

The video features the Audi R8 owned by Rogers Motorsports, chassis #607 (Car #38 in the Champion Racing livery). The car was driven by Doug Smith.

Video: The Audi R8 legends are not dead!

The Audi R8 was a revolutionary force in the world of sportscar racing. The car dominated the sport from 2000 until its eventual retirement in 2006. Many of these old cars have now begun racing in the various American Historic Racing series/events. Rogers Motorsport is one of the teams at the forefront with the Audi R8s that race in the historic events. The team has two Audi R8 cars, chassis #405 and #607. These cars will always be remembered as legends and the onboard videos bellow clearly show that these “old girls” still have a lot of speed in them.
